Core Projects
Lead to Life
I am the co-alchemist and program director of Lead to Life: A People’s Alchemy for Regeneration. We are a collective of artists, ecologists, and visionaries who are transforming guns into shovels, which are then used in transformational tree planting ceremonies at sites impacted by violence across the US. We have transformed nearly 100 guns into shovels, most of which have been given to grassroots social justice heroes. We recently organized and held powerful ceremonies that brought together thousands of people in Atlanta and Oakland to honor the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s assassination.
Music
I serve as founder and co-director of the Thrive Choir & Thrive Street Choir, which were born to sing the music for the revolution. While the Street Choir, collective deploys song leaders to direct actions across the Bay Area, the Thrive Choir offers our soul quenching original music at festivals, conferences and private venues across California, and every month in their home beloved community of Thrive East Bay in Oakland.
I also perform my own original music as a singer-songwriter, am a member of Jazz Mafia Choral Syndicate, and teach regularly on music & activism.
